This week on the Real Estate Real Easy blog, we feature Burleigh Waters in our suburb in profile series.

Burleigh Waters features and amenities

The suburb of Burleigh Waters has been built around 5 man-made lakes, namely Lake Heron, Miami Lake, Swan Lake, Pelican Lake and Burleigh Lake. The canal system is tidal and provides water access to The Broadwater and the Pacific Ocean. Many people kayak or boat in the Lakes, however, swimming is not recommended because sharks have been sighted in the waterways.

As with most suburbs on the Gold Coast, Burleigh Waters is peppered with parks and green spaces. Family-friendly playgrounds are dotted throughout the suburb where you will find basketball courts, swings, slides and general play equipment as well as picnic tables overlooking the lakes. Other amenities include a library, community centre and sports park, which includes a combined AFL and cricket oval, practice nets and tennis courts. Although, not a coastal suburb, it’s not a long drive to any number of beautiful Gold Coast beaches.

There are a number of shopping centres in the suburb, as well a the coast’s largest Bunnings Warehouse—very handy for any DIY you’d like to undertake! Treat the kids to a day out at Australia’s biggest indoor action centre, Bounce and for the grown-ups, nearby Burleigh Heads has a host of cafés, bars and clubs to keep you entertained.
